I'd love to know who was responsible for making this EP because it has got to be one of the best releases from 1993 - each track is unique and really excellent - the whole thing oozes darkness and really is the epitomy of 93 dark-as-furk hardcore. Standout track probably the police-sampling B1 side complete with "i am the angel of death" samples - totally eerie and compelling listening.. trouble is (as with most brilliant and original white labels) it's damn hard to get hold of!!
What we have here is one of the most in demand dark slices of hardcore on wax. There is nothing i don't like on this release, from it's yellowy white label to each of the awesome rollers that dominate so many mixes i have done to date. Every track is darkly tinged beats layered to perfection, flying through pointed spoken movie samples and the occasional vocal whilst all the while spooky pads climb and fall all around you. There is even a rift from a Police tune used to pretty good effect along side the sample "I am the angel of death" as well as plenty of solid darkside momentum running throughout every track.
So to wrap this up the xtc ep has to be one of my all time fave releases along side Code 001 and Skanna's Nightstalker for wonderfull rolling hardcore tunes that used to drive the 93 massive onto the floors and up the walls.
