Reviews & Discussion

Rated 5/5

Yet another perfect, cold, human, robotic, beautiful record by Sherard. This EP is very warm in relation to the full-length Urban Tribe albums, still driving and relentless and balancing perfectly between robotic precision and pure glowing warmth.

Her is one of my top songs of 2009- just beautiful interplay between the bassline, percussive accents, female vocal sample, and an arpegiatted melody that takes a good minute to have its filter swept from open to shut.
Gencon's shimmering main synth gives way to a bassline that is a fifth of an octave from where your brain expects it to be, somehow making the song not only bright and bittersweet but also feel like there's a piece of the puzzle missing the whole time.
Shambling Masses is classic UT, probably around 160 bpm, a quick delay backslap on the snare, and zombie movie samples. Great, but my least favorite on the EP.
Sabotage Clique has a gorgeous, slow decaying bass-y synth, a slippery high arpeggio make an appearance, and fade out perfectly like it could continue on to the horizon forever. Poor description, but this is the hardest to describe on the EP for me.

5 out of 5 for me, as is most of Sherard's work. Some of the best electro-influenced music I've ever heard.
