Reviews & Discussion

One of those releases that Ronan himself was humbled by when it sold for $700 on ebay. He was so taken aback that he placed a comment to the fan in the "Futureperfect" album that he would have given his personal copy to him. The release came at a time when IDM and EBM were in full force and the clubs were strewn with four on the floor beats. VNV Nation have never been more meticulous than at this point in their career with remixing and making important revisions or improvements to already powerful tracks. The inclusion of the standing single in this set marked a trend in compilations that many acts followed such as Funker Vogt with "T". The sentiment shortly but vastly reminded us how singles in the late 80's and early 90's were a great way to find new and important acts. It seems that the underground electronic scene and maybe the house/dance scence are really the only to continue with a "single" type release format. This is a perfect starter for anyone interested in pursuing VNV Nation, but be warned it will certainly be difficult or near impossible to find a mint or sealed copy at this point.

On this limited album they released a version of "Savior" (from Empires) that has Ronan's vocals and I must say that it took an already brilliant song and made it that much more brilliant. This is a must have. Also the slower track "Further" is a previously unreleased track which also makes this album an essential find.

For me, this EP is important because of 2 songs: Further, avaiable on here and Legion (Anachron), the best version of this song. A version that put together the Empires version with the (Janus) version. Transforming Legion (Anachron) in one of the VNV anthems! But this EP is no longer in production... It was limited...
