This single represents some of both an evolution and a devolution in Vainqueur's sound; evolution in the sense of embracing an overall more intelligent aesthetic, and devolution in the sense that less is used to acheive this aesthetic. Not as thumping as "Lyot", not as spacey as "Elevation", "Reduce" represents the midpoint of the two extremes. As such, the material is not nearly as good as those singles, but still a fine entry in Vainqueur's sparse discography.

Incredible minimal techno. If you've heard the Vainqeuer album "Elevations" and are wondering if you get anything extra out of the deal on this "reduce" 12", worry not, you do! Reduce 2 is an extended version from the CD track, and Reduce 1 is not available on the CD and is an incredible minimal techno work worthy only of the label Chain Reaction. HOT!
