Mostly aggressive, at times depressing, this CD contains some excellent examples of breakbeat and IDM. Some of Clint Mansell's tracks sound a lot like those in Requiem For A Dream, but the themes here are more breakbeat oriented, and they are much more aggressive. The first and last tracks, which are the main themes for the movie, are particularly memorable. All the other stuff in between is good as well, sending you through a voyage of aggressive electronic music. In my opinion, this is much better than the soundtrack to Requiem For A Dream because all the tracks and themes in that one are all broken up. In this soundtrack, the music is sorted in a more traditional way, with each whole track taking one track space. This makes it possible to listen to the music as just tracks, and not as soundtrack music. I highly recommend this for people who enjoy more abstract breakbeat or IDM.

Clint Mansell makes a cameo appearance in the film as a photographer that Max, the protagonist, chases down.
