A Tribute To Flexi-Pop Volume 10 contains five, yes 5 of the best songs of the 80's minimal wave movement with no doubt in my mind! "Pilotes" by Performance, "Pound, Pound" by Jeff & Jane Hudson, "Bettan Står I Baren, Baren Är Mitt Mål, Bettan Är Baren" by DC-Pobeln Med Guggi & 17, "Tanz In Dem Himmel" by Emak, and "Je Ne Veux Pas" by Vive La Fęte!. These songs are off of the artist's original LP's, but the problem being with Performance, that it is nearly impossible to find. I myself have been unable to locate any other song, be it mp3 or record by Performance for years now! If "Pilotes" is any indication of the rest of the LP, I am then dreaming for the day I find that masterpiece! As for Jeff & Jane Hudson - "Pound, Pound" happens to be their very best song! As for the song by DC-Pobeln, this is what minimal wave music is all about. The gritty male vocals on top of the drone-laced rhythm, with that arpeggio repeating the same line throughout makes this song an absolute stunning gem. "Tanz In Den Himmel" by Emak is a very rare song, this time an instrumental synth-masterpiece. Finally, "Je Ne Veux Pas" by Vive La Fęte! is a unique situation: a newer song on the Flexi series, from Belgium 1998. It's more of that unique stuff called: Minimal Wave music!!!

Whoever created the last few volumes of the Tribute to Flexi (notice I said the Tribute series only!) knows their stuff and purposely put some of the best and rarest pieces ever on these compilations. And whoever you are, I thank you.
