Why Arsim (arses) on acid...?
Ars - The real negative type of Israelien people. Their routs is mostly in Marocco. Arsim are kinda Noisy, make mess and dirt wherever they are, some violent, and most of them are Very stupid. There is no particular persons you can poit as Ars, but everyone knows who they are. (There is also written 'Who has the authority to decide who is ars and who is not' inside the cover of this cd).
Trance \ Acid Parties in the early 90's where a BLAST one by one, no police no Arsim. PURE UNDERGORUND.
At the moment that Arsim discovered Trance music, the whole scene went down. They gave a real bad name to all the ravers here, and in Goa, and then the police started to hunt the parties and destroy all the fun :-(
There where a period of time in 1997-98, when policemen came into parties, ans start beating people, and bust them, without any reason.
It went on the news a few time, but nobody (from the goverment) gave a shit, about this violence. The whole thing exploded when some minister claimed, live on TV that the police should terminate this phenomenon for good, because all of those ravers "...are just a bunch of Arsim on drugs like Acid, ecstasy and LSD". This, of course insulted many people, of all ages, from Ravers, to DJ's, artists, Producers and people who just like to listen to that kind of music.
A month later, the famous "Give Trance A Chance" demonstration, went infront of the Tel-Aviv Monicipality building.
More than 10,000 people (some Arsim...) came from all over the country. The biggest rave party ever made here, was a real rush. There were policemen everywhere, who couldn't do nothing, beacause that rave was leagal... :-D
There where live gigs by Astral, Infected, Mystica, MFG, Zoo-B, Indoor, Chakra, Sandman, California Sunshine, Edi Mis, Domestic, Xerox and many more. 6 hours of pure Trance in the middle of the city... and the clubs continued all night long!
The compilation CD named "Arsim On Acid" released a few weeks after. The track "Arsim On Acid" by shakta, is a kind of response to other party, that had closed down by the police, before it even started. (there's a rumour that Seb Taylor was arrested and released after a few hours. As for Total eclipse that were suppose to give a show, they got on the plain back. The police had forbidden theier entrance to Isreal. :-(
OK, man, I hope you've learned something about the trance scene here (in Israel), which is not that bright as it seen.
These days, it looks like the goverment finally understood that they cannot stop people from having a good time, no matter what!
