Reviews & Discussion

Rated 5/5

On this project you'll find producer Omid Walizadeh (aka OD, Omid) collaborating with some of the best MCs in the California underground, including members of Freestyle Fellowship, OMD, Shapeshifters, Hip Hop Klan, and Global Phlowtations among others. The songs are filled with engaging story-telling, conscious lyrics and psychedelic, moody beats which make this compilation an excellent deep-listening experience. Beneath the Surface is one of my favorite hiphop albums, and I'd say it's nearly essential to track down a copy.
