Boom Festival is held in portugal every two years during the August full moon. it storted in 1997 with a handful of enthusiasts and grew into a unique gathering of people from all over the world.
Boom is an independent culture and artistic expression festival. It crosses different art forms like music, point, graffiti, multimedia, installations, land art, theatre, cinema, or videoart.
Boom is also on intercultural event. In 2008 there were, 25,000 people from 85 different countries, setting the atmosphere for the emergence of a unique intercultural dialogue between people from all around the world within Boom.
This DVD captures the atmosphere of Boom 2008 in a series of films, This selection of documentaries, shorts, animations and indie videocasts gives a glimpse of one of the most unique festivals in the world.

A Main trait of Boom is Independence. The Boom Team strongly defend a new culture entertainment, where people, not brand satifaction, come first. Boom is a no-corporate logo area.
The new culture of entertainment that Boom advocates is also manifested in worldwide pioneer projects on ecological awareness. There is recycling; Boom is fuelled by waste vegetable oil; most of the materials are reused from other events; the toilets are compostable; and the water used in Boom is cleoned by cutting-edge biotechnologies based on aquatic plants. Entertaiment is about giving solutions to the people.
The ultimate acknowledgement come after its 7th edition held in 2008: Boom won The Greener Festival Award 2008. Besides the award Boom was one of the few 8 festivals in the world to receive the additional merit prize of "Outstanding".
