Thats some coincidence. The chances of randomly having an artist have the same name as another artists track or recording studio are pretty slim. Particularly with unusual titles like "Hexagon Sun". The fact that the track sounds a bit like Boards of Canada too makes it even more far fetched. Most people who are into the type of music that Worm Interface put out will have heard of Boards of Canada too and i think its safe to say that the artists on Worm Interface would know as much as anyone about them. I'm sure that this is no accident, though i'm certain it isn't Boards of Canada on the record. Even if it is, let them record under another name: they're probably as sick to death / amused by the ridiculous comments and star trek fan-like speculation about them as i am. oh dear, guess i'm guilty of that too now!

kid4today, the label never approached boards for a track for any release and were never threatened with legal action.

The facts: a) unknown to the label, it turns out that Hexagon Sun is the name of the boards studio and that they had a track called Blue Hexagon Sun, b) a few people had extrapolated that maybe the artist Hexagon Sun was BOC recording under a pseudonym and buzzed a few mailing lists, c) BOC (possibly) got upset about it.

The artist no longer records under this name as he had never intended to confuse anyone and ironically the track was a favourite of Warp DJ's.

no, apparently not. boards were asked to do a track for the album but refused, so worm interface decided to put a track on the album by an artist called hexagon sun, apparently warp were not pleased by this and are thought to have even threatened legal action against worm interface for misleading people.

There is some debate as to the identity of Hexagon Sun on this compilation. Many people are all too well acquainted with the Boards of Canada and their Hexagon Sun recording studio. So are Hexagon Sun the Boards of Canada ?
