Well this is the first release on Solstice Music and actually I was a tad disappointed with it.
It starts well enough with Electric Tease well, teasing us by building up a huge goa-like crescendo and then just hitting us with some bouncy acid beats instead of the trance exposion we were expecting. I have to give him credit for that though- suprising the listener always gets good marks in my book.
Then the album loses it's way I feel as the next couple of tracks, a lot more techno than trance, have a few interesting things going on but aren't particularly memorable.
Track 4, by Etnica at least brings some goa into proceedings but although shows juicy promise, never really gets going.
Back to fairly mediocre for track 5 and then the highlight of the album: Eat Static's Holy War.
It's indescribable really as a lot of their tracks are; a real hodge podge of genres: breakbeat, acid, trance, ethnic, whatever! What I can say about it is that it really outshines the other tracks on this compilation, with the possible exception of the next one by Genetic which is really lovely.
The last two tunes revert back to the category of listenable and certainly not bad techno/ trance but nothing to get too excited about.
A bit of a letdown for me but worth checking out for tracks 1, 6 and 7.
