Reviews & Discussion

Rated 2/5
Review by ledjfab Mar 19, 2007 (edited over 2 years ago)
A boring compilation. Really. There are maybe three or four potential tracks (and I am generous), but nothing more. The first two tracks will test your nerves: basically you will hear the same loop for six, seven minutes, with little or no variations at all. Some more unconclusive and useless remixes (Todd Edwards, Freeform Reform, Derrick Carter...) will bring your audition to a profound level of boredom. Paul Jacobs save the day with "Soul Grabber III" (the main reason for me to buy this); an underground gem with a typical Daft Punk flavour (from the "Homework" era) and a catchy bassline. Forget about "Motocross Madness", which is a bad clone of the latter track. Gideon And Rob H, remixed by DJ Q, have some moments (thanks to the jazz sample), same thing for Laid with "Play The Drums", which bring a certain degree of pride to your body and soul. But really, forget about the rest. "Fine House Music" has little of what I could call "fine". Globally, an inconclusive CD set, filled with un-melodic dance tracks.
