Hommega Productions keeps releasing compilations in the Full On series. Here they are out with the seventh chapter. It is compiled by Eyal Yankovich.

First out is Amit Duvdevani, who is one half of Infected Mushroom. This track has the full on sound of Infected Mushroom, but less melodies. Banging full on beats and an evil voice saying “now is the time to take what’s mine”. Track 2 is a collaboration between Astrix (Avi Shmailov) and Dimitri Nakov. Dimitri is one of the leading psytrance dj’s in the world, and Astrix made big success with his album Eye To Eye. The track we get here is a deep rolling track. Very hard pushing, rolling bass line, and some sort of dark, floating vibe above. Pretty stumpy, and it builds up and become more and more full on. Track 3 is a collaboration between Domestic (Ido Ophir) and Eskimo (Junya Ford). Eskimo is the son of John Ford in Mindfield, and he did well with his debut album (Can You Pick Me Up?) on Phantasm Records. The track we get here has some really bouncy heavy beats. Rolling beats that will for sure make people stump extra hard on the dance floor. Track 4 is by Xerox (Moshe Keinan) and Illumination (Amir Dvir), also known as Luminus. They have been collaborating quite a lot lately. Here they have also surprisingly worked with Sandman (Izik Levi), who we haven’t heard much from the last couple of years. This is a rolling giant with totally heavy bass line. There could have been some more melodies, but away from that, not bad.

Track 5 is by Hujaboy (Nir Shoshani). This track is a bit more melodic than the previous tracks on this compilation. Track 6 is by someone called Black & White (Samuel Valerstien and Yaniv Biton). Here we get definitely darker vibes. The sounds in this track are really jumpy, and the bassline is totally pushing. But, we also get some light drops now and then. Pure night time full on trance. Track 7 is by Psy Sex (Udi Sternberg), but remixed by the upcoming star brothers Sub6 (Ohad Aharoni and Golan Aharoni). They give us a really stumpy track with some crunchy, swirling sounds above. Track 8 is by Intelabeam (Dan Keinan). He follows up with more stumpy bassline. Pretty rough rhythm drift in this one. Track 9 is by Oforia (Ofer Dikovsky). The rhythm drift he gives us reminds me actually a bit of The Antidote, which is pretty cool. A very drifting track and definitely one of my favourite tracks on this compilation. The last full on track on this compilation is a track by Astrix (Avi Shmailov) called Life System, which was originally released on his album Eye To Eye. Here we get a remixed version done by Delirious (Avi Harush and Arik Mimon). This sounds actually more full on than the original, and I prefer this version, which is actually a pretty good remix.

This compilation gives us a pretty good picture of what the cream of Israeli full on psytrance sounds like today. So, if you want to check out the latest crazy Israeli full on, you might check out this.

While I have been fairly down on a lot of the Full On being produced lately, I have been going back and listening to my various older full on comps and noticed that the HOM-mega Full On and Israliens series of comps been a definite cut above the rest of the full on pack and I generally seem to enjoy both of these series of comps. For that reason I was interested in seeing what this latest installment to the Full On Series would have to offer.

Infected Mushroom's Duvdev's Now Is The Time. Not surprisingly this track just reaks of Infected Mushroom (not a bad thing). The production is good, but perhaps not up to usual Infected standards in my opinion. The vocal's will probably turn a lot of people off and I must admit they turned me off on my first listen as well, but after repeated listens, I have gotten used to them and the track is decent, if not great. However on this comp I dare say it is the weakest track here, which is a good thing since it is still a decent track. Astrix & DJ Dimitri are next with Evox, a nice bassy, but not BASSY track than has a lot of smooth layers and parts floating around over the full on low end. A good example of well made full on in my opinion.

A Lession In Session by Domestic Eskimo is next and I am liking it. The bass line grooves instead of just running you over and the flanged and phased lead bits are nice, slowly thickening and ever evolving. Again, the full on elements are here, but they play the proper supporting role rather than being the whole point of the track. This track pretty much keeps evolving and changing and holds my attention till the end. Heck there are even some almost goa-like acidy parts here to boot. Good stuff.

Next up is the Full On All Stars track of the album, Xerox & Illumination vs Sandman. After a string of great tracks several years ago, Sandman has kind of fallen off the face of the Earth (or at least off my radar) so I was glad to see him turn up again here in Resolution. Lots of LOOOOONNNNGGGG reverb tails and echoing coat the various fly by sounds that swirl above the straight up, but not over the top 16th note bassline. Slowly more melodic elements start to creep in and fill the soundscape breaking into some full blown melodic lines during the 3 minute mark. This track isn't ground breaking, but it is very well done regardless. Again, a lot of development and changes in mood. Its a bit darker than some of the other tracks, but I like my dark psy too so I'm not complaining. The contrast of dark wizzy bits and melodic stuff is nice as well. Another winner here.

Hujaboy is next with Just A Sec. This seems to have the most overwhelming bass so far, although the line has a little bit of groove to it, so I can forgive it. Just before the 2 minute mark it drifts into what I can "Standard Full On Mode". Of all the tracks so far, this is the most typical of modern full on, albeit well done. I definitely don't dislike it. some of it is pretty damn nice. But it doesn't seem quite as original as the rest of the tracks. Rest assured that this will rock the dancefloor though. Black & White's 20 For 7 follows with the darkest and hardest track so far. There are some odd minor vocal samples that strike me as unnecessary, but the track itself is pretty much exactly what I want when I want a dark moody thumper. Its both full on pumping and hypnotically claim, which is just about the best combination I can think of for a dancefloor track. Great stuff here.

Sub6 Remixes one of my favorite acts, Psysex next. Survival Kit is simply a good remix. This is one of those few remixes that sounds a lot like the original, but yet completely different (something Cosma did even better with another Psysex track on Full On 6, seems Psysex is just a good group remix-wise). Here we have a nice mix of Sub6's sound and Psysex's original sounds. If you like either one, you will like this. Intelabean is next up with Loco Motive. It starts deceptively claim before jumping in with both feet. All the tracks here have been fairly similar vibe-wise, making the comp here very cohesive sonically. Loco Motive fits the flow well. Its not a standout for me, but it doesn't hold the comp down either.

Instant Food by Oforia follows. The title actually makes me think of a lot of the throw away full on we hear today. Like McDonald's, its a quick fix, seems decent at the time, but forgettable its certainly not what you want all the time. This track, luckily doesn't entirely fall into the "instant full on" category. It is, like Loco Motive, not particularly original or groundbreaking, but it is definitely a cut above the norm. Astrix - Life System (Delirious Remix) finishes off the comp on a high note. Nicely produced, busy, yet calm, good development, good atmosphere, good contrasts between "full on" wizzy leads and melodic lines. All and all the right way to close this comp I think.

The end result - While this isn't as good as some of the other Full On Series comps, it is worthy of the "Full On" series name and is by no means a stinker of a release. I don't buy too much full on these days, but I definitely don't regret this purchase. A hair predictable at moments, but still way above average. 7.5/10
