Reviews & Discussion

Review by Boris2000 Apr 18, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
The tracks found in this set are very diverse, but what struck me is one of the tunes on this: Brainpainter.

Unlike the other releases by The Outside Agency, this one is a pretty mellow and trippy IDM-like track, with a minimalistic but beautiful melody. The track then evolves into using various breaks in the end, still retaining the effective melody, and it seriously kicks ass.

Overall, a very good collection consisting mostly of industrial tracks, but in my case, I would've bought the entire set just for that wonderful little tune. Luckily all tracks are well-produced.

this is indeed one fine peace of art. a mixture of a lot of different sound styles, all far away from "the usual stuff". the tracks are very diversified and leave you no chance to get bored. for me it's more an album to listen to at home, not to play out when djing. put it on the deck, lean back, close your eyes and let the frequencies fragment your braincells.

if you are one of those people who often browse through online record stores and wonder why everything sounds the same nowadays, get this album. it's different. and it's very good.

I can not remember a record that made an impact on me as this one did.
This is the ultimate industrial(techno) album. This has it all; Industrial hardcore, breakcore, IDM and even trippy Breaks.
If you're into industrial, or just not afraid of something different, this album is a must!

My favourite track on this albums is most definitely Brainpainter by TOA, Trippy breaks ooh yeah!
