Part 8 of this series is the last volume whose music is still from the “golden era” of Goa trance, or almost. This volume came out in January 1999 and all material is from 1998, with maybe an exception. The new emerging progressive sound of goa of the time does already has a bit of influence on this release, though nowhere overwhelming it. Innovative new acts like the full-on Xerox & Freeman and the progressive Tarsis make an apperance, the old X-Dream hit the tracklist with a tech-trance number from their groundbreaking album Radio. A bit of old-school touch is provided from Califirnia Sunshine, and last by not least by Hallucinogen with his twisted remix of Jana. I also like very much the track Darshannon with Simon Posford also involved.

Subsequent volumes of this series have added "the new generation" in fine print on cover. That couldn't have been more true ;) This isn't certainly one of the better compilations out there but if you are into collecting those "oldschool" compilation series this is the Goa-Head you should stop at.
