This is one of my favourites from this series. It really covers all corners of the genre, which is actually no wonder if you look at when it was released.

Disc 1 starts with two minimalistic psy/progressive trance tracks. Some will call these very boring, but although these two tracks are very minimalistic they have some wicked & well chosen psychedelic sound samples which give them a groovy atmosphere.

Next come two tracks by two long established artists of the genre, Sun Project and Dimension 5. Sun Project's track is a typical guitar track which you love or hate, while Dimension 5 once again proove they're probably the best team when it comes to melodic tracks from beginning to end ;) Organic Noise serve us another of their typical midtempo, techno influenced and minimalistic tracks. It might take some time to get used to this track but if you consider this was released in 1997 (!!) respect goes for such a futuristic sound. Disc 1 is rounded off by the mysterious artist Hara Gobi, an artist whose first apperance goes back to 1995. His track “Holi Live” has a long ambient intro and a great ethnic influence.

Disc 2 starts with a track by Ra, a side project of Dimension 5. Again, this is melodic Goa at its finest hour. Space Tribe gives us another killer dancefloor track, just watch the track title ;) Massimo Vivona is around with a minimalistic Progressive track, Koxbox's track is a sort of Dub Techno remake; Chi-A.D. offers us a melodic yet mysterious track while DJ Nitrogen rounds off the disc with an acidic trance tune.

All nails are hit here. I highly recommend this for it's variety of styles from both veteran and (then) new artists. Don't be put off by the change in mood between tracks: a release like this not intended to be a trip but just a good roundup of the genre.
