This is a compilation of rare tracks – each of these tracks seldomly appeared on other compilations, and this is what makes this one of the most sought after Goa compilations from THE era.

Track 1 and 2 are both from the good old Flying Rhino imprint. “Ancient Lands”, also known as the “Wolf Track” for the samples of howling wolves in it opens this compilation in slower pace. Next come Technossomy with the mid-tempod “Rejuvination”, the b-side of their most probably known track “Pyramid”

Track 3 is a very deep track by a mysterious artist. Doctor Acid only released one CD album on the same BNE. This track is hard to describe. It has a dramatic intro, a nostalgic melody and a very mad breakdown. A highly emotional track which must be heard to understand!

Doof’s remix of Simon Posford’s masterpiece might leave different opinions. It’s completely different from the original, and has that 100% 1996 Doof sound. Maybe if it wasn’t for that repeating “LSD” “LSD” sample would have been better. But if you like Doof’s original sound you’ll love this one – but only as a Doof track not for Hallucinogen’s re-work!

Next come veterans Cosmosis with the Benedictine Mix of “Deus”. Love this track, also because to my surprise it’s a track I taped back in 1995 =) Odds are next with “Flying To The Sky”, and the elusive act Bell Size Park provide us a track sounding like another who’s who when it came to melodic Goa trance from the time.

Track 8 is by Sven Väth (!!) but never mind – it’s remixed by former Goa Gods Total Eclipse. An old track from 1994 from the label that in my opinion defined trance, Eye Q Records. Nothing outstanding for a Total Eclipse track but it’s always nice to hear that “totally eclipsed sound” =)

Last track is the weakest of all. Maybe it’s a bit less Goa sounding, a bit hard-trance inclined. Still “The Flame” comes from another pioneer label of the Goa sound, Transient.

A gem of a compilation, biggest problem is that it’s ultra hard to get.
