referencing How To Kill The DJ [Part Two], CD, Comp, Mixed + CD, Comp, TSKTCD001

An incredible mix that left me gobsmacked from the outset. I've lost count how many times I've listened to this, but I still can't tire of it. The range and depth of music covered on this CD is astounding. Where the Soulwax/2 Many DJs duo aim for the recognisable (dare I say predictable?) Optimo take it to another level and then some.
There are too many tracks and mixing moments to mention in a single review, but a few that get me salivating are:
hearing the full version of Gang of Four's - Damaged Goods, an amazing post punk(?) tune that hinges on the twangy bassline and emotive lyrics.
Langley Schools Music Project - Good Vibrations, a cover that brings back memories of my primary education and trying to sing harmony in the school choir (can't believe I've admitted to being in a school choir!).
Medium Medium - Hungry So Angry, never heard this before, but desperately hunting down. Crazy otherworldy vocals and excellent 80's synth sci-fiesque effects.
Ricardo Villalobos into Art of Noise into Ricardo Villalobos - micro house pads and rhythms meet 80's melodies in a perfect unison.
And ending the mix with a club's 'one more tune' chant AND then providing the goods in the form of Love's - Everybody's Got To Live...highly original and bloody excellent.
