The first half of disc one is mixed by Lunatic and Miss Hysteria, a well-known duo in the Gabber scene. Track selection is mostly straight up Gabber except for the insanely dark “Pure Darkness” and the always amazingly sounding “The Signal”. There’s the 2004 “Dissonant Poetry” which happens to be one of my favourite tracks ever so it doesn’t really bother me having it once more.
The second half of the first CD is mixed by the eclectic French team BudBurnerz so inevitably we have a touch of Frenchcore. The mix includes some uncommon and obscure French tracks from vinyls first time on CD so it’s something I really dig.
Disc 2 is where things start to become dark(er). The first mix starts off with some drum & bass and soon the music changes to that kind of hard sound the previous volumes had. Artists like Qualkommando, Noisekick and GFB always put a sm:)le on my face. There’s a new mix of the metal influenced track “Pedal To Da Metal” and a hint of Breakcore on some tune.
The second part of the CD is mixed by the Destroyer, the great Italian artist known for his relentless, hard hitting stuff with wicked sampling. Be it a cartoon character or the music from an old Italian TV quiz the Destroyer always puts the right sample at the right time :-) The end bonus track is another metal influenced track.
Track selection is nice and the mixing is good, but I still very much miss the true Terror sound the previous volumes had.
