Accapellas used on Disc 2:
Bernard Lyon Howard III Feat. 80 - Marscarter
Luzon - The Baguio Track
The complete title of the release is "In House We Trust 3 - Mixed By Luke Fair And Desyn Masiello".
Disc one features Luke Fair, who has been making quite a name for himself lately in the studio (with productions on Bedrock and SAW to name a few), taking a crack and coming up aces. From the lush strings of “Dedicated to All Believers” by Heiko Laux through the driving rhythms of “Clockwork Orange” by Christian Smith and the evil bassline of his own “The Wish”, Luke keeps things moving in a forward, logical progression and keeps you entertained and lost in the beats till the last note.
Disc two brings us British DJ/ Producer, Desyn Masiello. Known for his brilliant re-edits (ala Danny Tenaglia), Desyn takes tracks, chops them up, rearranges them and makes them his own. These reworkings have become quite sought after on the progressive scene and cemented his reputation as a rising start and one of DJ Magazine’s “top 100 DJs to watch” for 2003. Exhibiting all that skill and creativity, he takes a bunch of older tracks (Fly Away by Mysterious People, Choose Life by Humate and Passion Fruit by David Alvarado etc.) that you may consider “worn-out” in their original form, and spices them up. More a treatment of 12 tracks as a whole piece of work, more than a “DJ mix”, this disc is extremely compelling and won’t do anything to hurt Masiello’s blossoming reputation.
After three mix CDs and countless remixes, repressings and re-issues, the only negative comment I have to add is that in my opinion, the Yoshitoshi back catalogue is getting a bit tired. Very few record labels can do one retrospective, never mind three, and at this point they have milked the cow that is their first 100 tracks to the fullest. Time to give it a well-deserved rest.
