the sound of input64 wasn't recorded from a real commodore c64, but from a pc emulating the soundchip SID from the c64. lame. but the tunes are great classics. check out modern electronic music made with this machine!!! www.c64.sk

This compilation CD is a deceit.
A horrible way to make money of innocent people, and I don't think the artist which mentioned here got payed for their work.

Actually, all you get here, is a recording of the original tunes, preformed by the legendary machine - the Commodore 64 computer. You can easily download those tunes as the original SID files, from any Commodore 64 fan site, and play it on a freeware SID Player, or a SID plug-in for your Real Player. The sound quality is exactly the same - 8 bit tunes, based on 3 channels, and a volume channel which usually been used to make beat which was based on white noise, just like the original SID chip that you had on your C64.

The music itself is still doing it. After so many year, it finally get the attention it deserves, not to mention that the whole "Electro-Clash" scene is based on those square-wave sounds, with that "Low-Tech" feeling.
Also, you can't call it "A Best Of..." collection, since the C64 has many other better and more familiar tunes. Still, "The Last Ninja" tune is an all time favorite (the tune was so much better the the game), and "Boulder Dash" made me wonder why the hell did I spend so much time as a kid, on that annoying game, trying to figure out how to solve the mazes and get the diamonds without getting smashed by a rock or those bloody 4-pixel butterflies...

Ignore this release, type C64 in your search engine, download and enjoy these unforgettable games and tunes. Just please remember that you also have other duties and things to do with your life ;-)
