This CD was the pinnacle of the London acid techno and squat scene. It was all that was fun, positive and rock and roll about Acid techno , a sonic epiphany, before the scene nosedived into substance abuse hell. Naive as it may sound this music had a message and that message was freedom thus "liberator DJs" . The music was an expression of those attempting to live a "free" lifestyle outside the "system". However what originally liberated the minds of many people , ie drugs, later became their prison and this was reflected in the music. But that was later, but here, for one brief shining moment, thousands of people knew what it was like to feel truly free, and this CD, for many, was the soundtrack to that moment....

I have very fond memories of this CD. I believe I bought it with VCF's Modernistic Acid Trance, and those 2 albums gave me a crash course in the London Acid sound.

With immense 303s, high BPM, and a generally spikey attitude, this CD also converted some of my friends to the sound. One of them even moved to London in order to be a tourist in the squat scene!

The star remains the Liberator remix of "Acid War", which is probably in the top 5 tunes ever released in the London Acid scene.

Mixing is a bit shocking in parts, but you won't notice if you're not a crusty DJ type like me. I also found the unmixed tracks to be rather quiet, so you'll need to normalize them or jack up the gain if you use them in DJ sets.

A great audio time capsule of the Golden Era of the scene, before things went DARK.

Absolute top dog,, this album inspired a whole generation of wonky eyed subverts and metal faced urbanites to re-claim 'piano house' laden dance floors and abandoned warehouses from London across the whole globe. As far as I am concerned, before this album there was nothing. From this seed great things grow. Every track on this record is ace, although I think 'undulator' is still my favorite. If you are lucky enough to have an original copy then I'd hold on to it, as you'll have a hard time getting hold another one. I've been looking for months, but still only have a dodgy mp3 copy.
Thanks 'stay up forever', you are possibly the best thing to come out of Britain since electricity!

This is the ultimate Acid techno album. Epitomising the era of the London underground sqaut party acid techno scene it is the perfect CD to slip on at any where people are so gone they can no longer remember what music is fashionable. It is very good fun to dance too and still gets people dancing even today.
