Various - MSX00.1 10th Anniversary Special Edition

This CD is basically perfection.
It beautifully shows why Moving Shadow is (or sadly was) the biggest and best hardcore, jungle and drum & bass label.
Stretching from its humble beginnings in 1991 with 2 Bad Mice and Blame, right up until Dom & Rolands dark outings, this mix has everything.

The tempo of this mix itself goes from around 140bpm to over 174bpm, smoothly, so gradual infact you do not notice the speed increase at all.
That, and the fact that half the mixes start right from the beginning of the incoming tracks, indicates that this 'mix' by Timecode (aka Mr Playford) was almost certainly done in a studio using Pro-Tools or some similar software.

Dont let this take away from the mix, it is utter perfection all the way through, Rob Playford has obviously put a huge amount of thought into the tracklisting, all the tunes mix together perfectly, obviously without a beat out of place.

Whether you are a D&B beginner and what to brush up on your history, or your a seasoned veteran, you need this on your collection.
Cheap too

The best mix CD I have ever heard. Highs, lows, twists, turns, retro to modern, soulful and heavy, cheesey then serious, nods to the old school mingled with a futurist intent. The mixing is so seamless it is hard to believe there is a human involved, but the sound is so full of heart there's no doubt this DJ has strong feelings and compassion. Put it on when you've got housework to do. Put it on when you've just broken up with someone. Put it on anytime, it will always sound fresh and real. Timecode. Timeless.
