Reviews & Discussion

Rated 5/5
Review by Aim023 Jun 04, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
This is one cd I always find myself putting on when I'm in the mood for background ambience with a groove. The definite highpoint for me is the Action Men track 'Inside Your Mind' which is close to 9 minutes of absolutely brilliant trip-house. Lunar & Slide's 'Disco Shiva' is another largely enjoyable track with breakbeat mash-ups, strange samples, burbly choirs and liquid theremin lines. Most of the rest of the album has a high sense of psychoactivity as well and is filled with material that sits well in the background or foreground provided you are at least a little open minded. An odd thing I noticed, however, is that it would seem more than a couple of artists on this compilation had the bright idea of sampling bong hits, which can get a bit redundant.
