A slight edit to my previous review :

Havin listened more+more to this release over the last week or so i felt that my "devostating massacre" comment was way over the top+even a little too harsh. It's not actually to bad at all+i've even grown to quite like the dj smash remix.

I think i said that in the heat of the moment+it was based on my love of the original. I withdraw the statement+apologise for my single mindedness :)

I dig the way you set my soul on fire!

As we browse through the tracklist this release appears to be a winner. With tracks that were originally big hits, this remixed collection should be essential to any funk or soul set.

Thing is it isn't really. In patches it hits the spot but it also manages to throw in some proper stinkers.

Stand out track for me is z-trip's splendid rework of the jackson 5 classic i want you back which really is superb - killer funk with a hefty hip hop beat makes this an excellent track to mix with too.

The real let down is dj smash's remix of stevie wonder's signed, seal, deliverd - a devastating massacre of an excellent tune.

Could be better - overall i'm pleased it's not worse!
