I've been living in South Korea for the last 8 years... this is going to read like a message in a bottle. Like most people we lose a lot things during the journey of life, and an ex-girlfriend from way back snatched this cd when we broke up. She was an awesome girl and we loved the same kind of music. Now, I'm generally not one for compilation cds, but this one was different and I picked it up randomly at Mudshark in North Bay, Ontario. It was either there or Jake Corkin's used cd shop. Anyway, both those places kicked ass but I'm pretty sure only Mudshark is still open. I remember listening to this cd over and over again, but there are a couple tracks that really stand out, my favorite is 'good to be alive' by Itch, as well as 'welcome to the crackhouse' by consolidated. It's an amazing disk, and really nails that whole time period and the music being made then, music that never appeared on any top 40 chart but still had immense pull with what was then just the beginning of the end of an incredible genre, the alternative music scene.
