| Nu Electro Volume 1 (2x12", Album, Comp, Ltd) | Street Sounds | SSNELP 001 | UK | 2009 |
I was lucky enough to be alive/aware of the Streesounds Electro series back in the early-mid eighties. I bought Electro 6 in my local record shop and like thousands of kids in their early teens absorbed and digested the dope sounds that were being formulated in the US and compiled by our man on the street Morgan Khan - the man with the vision..Its is always gonna be a big project to follow the stuff of legends but on first listen to CD #1 I am CONTENT with the results. OK so the mixing is not as smooth as Herbie with noticable drops here and there but more importantly the VIBE of Streetsounds Electro is maintained. Its this vibe which is so important to me. The tracks are good enough in my view with nice slection of nostalgia, futuristic off beat niceness. Let's catch them doing something right - eh?
BTW That Blasteroids track is the nuts!
