Although it sounds like an authentic rare funk collection, all of the tracks in "Original Raw Soul" were recorded under different pseudonyms by none other than The Poets Of Rhythm. They have fooled many virgin ears over the years (including mine!) - but that's only a tribute to the fact that these German white boys sure do know how to play it raw and dirty. The Poets Of Rhythm full multi-label multi-band-name discography is documented at Tobias Kirmayer's Tramp Records website. An article on the subject was also written in Waxpoetics #3 (Fall 2002).
