Tracks by Bumbling Loons, Slinky Wizard, Byte 1, the fantastic one time collaboration between two pioneers Graham Wood and Xavier Morel, and Jammy Wizard deliver tunes way ahead of the times, which would almost single handedly earn this label its reputation as the ultimate psychedelic trance power house.
Slick, sharp, minimal, with the microscopic lens focused on a tiny universe of details rather than synth heavy old school leads.
Basically, this is where it all started, and even if it didn't, then nobody noticed the whole minimal progressive sound until certain artists off the Flying Rhino roster brought it to the psy trance realm. Back in its day, "Second flight: Turbulence" was as fresh as a bottle of freezin' cold Sprite found in the middle of the Sahara desert prior to dehydrateing.
Not everything is memorable, but overall this is a classic compilation, mainly due to its historical vaue. For reference only, Deflo, Sharas and Alienated deliver three numbers where the randomized noise factor is just blown out of proportion. Loud, undeveloped and uninteresting, they should serve (if nothing else) as sonic intervals during which you should be recovering from the aforementioned gems!
