referencing Soul Jazz Records: Singles 2008-2009, 2xCD, Comp + CD, Mixed, SJR CD 194

Most of the tracks here lean towards dubstep of a strictly digital, rather cold nature, and most of them leave me cold. I could have done with more of the electro tracks, such as those by Matias Aguayo, Secondo and Subway. Tetine's very silly 'I Go To The Doctor' sticks out like a sore thumb, relies too heavily on its sample source, and is rather irritating.

The third CD features some very dodgy mixing by Kris Jones – the switches between tracks are really painful (in terms of both key and rhythm) in places, especially towards the end. It's also annoying that what sound like some of the most interesting tracks here (Cotti's 'Eat Dirt', King Soly's 'Takeover' and Kutz's 'Tarantula') appear only on the mix disc, and not in complete form on the other discs. Jones frontloads his mix with the dubstep pieces, and seems to have included Subway and Secondo right at the end as a matter of obligation.
