The impact of this album on me cannot be understated. As a student back in 86/87, miles from anywhere with imports, HMV and big UK releases was all there was to get hold of the wave of house music coming across from Chicago. Before this album there was not much beyond the London/ffrr vol.1 7-tracker, Jack Your Body, Love Can't turn around, and a handful of UK tracks.
Suddenly this bulging gift pack introduced new artists, new crazy concepts and sounds, sex, cartoons, soul, "the box", stripped jackin rhythms, and more melllow sounds too, all wrapped up in pure energy.
Essential material, and for me at least, a landmark.
