Reviews & Discussion

Review by jonathan_armstrong Mar 15, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
Like many techno fans, I went through a brief phase where I started reminiscing about my younger years in the underground party scene. For some reason, Daniel Bell's music always struck a nerve back then, and I thought I had to "collect 'em all".

After paying about $20 for this, I realized I may have been mistaken. This record is OK, but there's absolutely nothing special about it. It really epitomizes the 'techno/trance' sound that was big in 1993. Worth picking up for a few bucks, I suppose, but not $20. Hindsight is not always 20/20.

Early minimalistic techno stuff on the B side, with "Percussion Electrique" being a sub-version of Plastikman's "Spaz" and "Phreak Trak #3", basically a happyish track made out of three sounds. Presumably fashionable out of hype and utterly forgettable.
The bubbly Acidic "Cygnus" is really the only worthwhile contribution on this.
