'Belt Frictional Problem' is easily Kit Clayton's best track: a bright fluid synthesizer exercise that manages to be both menacing and catchy as-all-get-out. The real money on this 12" is Paris' 'Black in the Green': dark detroit minimalism at its finest, matched with an equal amount of soul thanks to an elegantly filtered vocal sample ('i know'). One of my all-time favorite tracks.
even if you don't quite fiend for experimental and innovative techno sounds to pump out of your club/bedroom speakers/monitors, the kit clayton track on this ep alone is worth your money as far as having some dope detroit vinyl in your collection. personally, i find the ep to be very good and i really dig all the trax on it, even the godfather lockgrooves...
