This is early cologne acid with a lot of spheric synthpads, excellent 909/808-programming and a sometimes quite melodic pop-appeal that never gets cheesy or cheap. You can almost feel the sparkling creativity the mentioned artist had in their early days... splendid!
Plus, you get early Speedy J/The Melody, Mike Dunn (QX1), Mixmaster Morris, Steve Silk Hurley for your listening pleasure...
Still, the standout track on this compilation is a 12 (yes, twelve!) minute version of Space Cube's wonderful "Dolphins" - slower and much deeper than the version usually published on vinyl and other compilations, which is only 7 minutes and more uptempo. A real masterpiece which doesn't seem to be available on any other release - so grab this one, while it's still afforable!
