This is a great compilation if you want to grab hold of a few classics all in one place. Those would mainly be Astral Projection's 1996 mix of the otherwise fantastic Mahadeva, Power Source's evergreen Goaway, and Cosmosis' timeless monster Gift Of The Gods, which is just that.
However, for me, the real treats here are the two Syb Unity Nettwerk tracks, one of which is a superb remix of Disco Volante's Forbidden, and the other one is my favorite Kris Kylven track of all times, the brutally impeccable Tripperspaced.
Elysium comes with a 1995 track, from his "Dance for celestial beings album", and in my ears it sounds just about as any other track the man has done during that period. Not bad, but not great either, and the ethnoish influences are certainly misused and heavily out of place on this compilation. The Lunar Asylum tracks is not bad either, its greatest sin is that it falls in between two goa trance monsters, so you never really get the maximum out of it. In my opinion, the last three tracks are absolutely forgettable...
All in all, a nice compilation from the golden era, but with your eyes closed you'd find a better one, though I'd give all old school DJs an urge to fetch this on vinyl- as the vinyl versions of Tripperspaced, Forbidden and Gift Of The Gods sound fantastic!
