Reviews & Discussion

Rated 5/5
Review by kalex Nov 26, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
This was my first ever goa trance CD. I heard this CD in a record store (where I was browsing the usual stock of techno/trance EyeQ HH etc. that I was listening to at the time), and the owner played it at a rather mild volume over the shops audio system for everyone to hear (he couldn't make out where he should file it) ... the Psychaos track was playing. It so *totally* blew me away on the shops tiny speaker system, I was amazed... next was the Universal Sound track with its wicked 303 riff - and that was when I went to the desk and said "I want the CD that is playing!".

At home, I suffered the goatrance shock of the first time listener: total overload after the first three tracks - this was too much for me, being the average trance and techno listener back then. But the sounds, the beautiful electronic sounds! Shifting and kaleidoscopically spiralling, swirling, morphing, twisting... the love for these sounds never left me. When I bought this record, I did not even know that this style was called psychedelic trance! :-)

Given this bit of history, all of these tracks are eternal classics for me. The track listing of this record is burned into my brain forever. What a luck I had that the first goa CD that I bought was full of tracks from the most outstanding artists of that time. MWNN, TIP, Space Tribe... one by one I bought their albums of that time, and they all turned out to be classics.

This compilation often sells at rather low prices, if you're interested in a history lesson into the early days of goa trance, check it out.
