Reviews & Discussion

TRAPEZ is so full of surprises. This is just another one: a Deep Tech House Mix by the MasterMind Triple R (Riley Reinhold). From A to Z a freaky and driven Tech House Sampler listing the names which make this Label one of the most important in the business. Marvellous !!! Listen in awe and relieve yourself of your daily agenda ... pure fun pure beats pure loss of control ... Basic tunes adjusted to form and function ... massaging your brain! the message is to dance

Contrary to popular belief, this mix is a superb follow-up to his "friends" mix available on Kompakt. While the album is defunkt of all crowd pleasing hooks like the career spurting Ada track, dntel remix, etc (i.e. indy vocal songs). Friends was a stunning gimmick in this way, however seminal-- spawning the excellent DJ Koze - "All People is My Friends," and Jaumetic & Sergei "Regular, My Friends and I" (Regular) both released in 2004. Here Triple R has instead returned the minimal core of microhouse to celebrate the precision and passivity which have typically lead others to condemn the genre all together. The mix's cuts are progressive, seamless, and refuse to let grab of the listener's ass similar to the critily acclaimed "friends." RHe keeps his Jeff Samuel staple to hold up the sequel to Akufen's "Pyschometry" with a classic Oliver Hacke, and self produced collaboration with Steve Barnes. Riley Reinhold assures us he will save schaffel, if Michael Mayer jumps the boat.
