This is a grand compilation of a variety of dub and reggae styles, with some rather odd tracks thrown into the mix. Some tracks are very interesting blendings of dub with electronics, like "Step Like Pepper" and "Je Me Mentis". The track by The Slackers has a very slow ska beat, feeling more organic than Manasseh Meets The Equalizer's track. Ruts DC, who have a lot of weird feedback on their guitars and vocals, adding a psychedelic rock feel to the track, almost seem out of place on this after The Slackers. But even odder is the final track, a really cheesy alt.dance.rock sounding track. I feel odd placing all the blame at the feet of Jimmy Cauty, but I doubt Martha And The Muffins had anything to do with the final cut.

But on the good side, Don Letts does a superb job remixing Scientist, and the Clash's Bankrobber dub is beautifully mellow. The remix work on 10 Tons Of Dope is great, and was the first track I really got lodged in my head from this compilation. Thomas Fehlmann did a splendid job in the hip-hop of Monkeytribe, creating a downtempo-dubby revision.

If you run across this, definitely grab it. I rather doubt it made its way into many stores, as the only times I've seen this mentioned was on radio shows.
