Reviews & Discussion

The two Dexter tracks are among the best tracks he ever did and some of the best electro tracks of the last years... "I Program" brings so much emotion and feelings thru the crying synth-line, and the vocoded vocals are like the final touch making this track an exception!
"Starman" is just another brillant production from Legowelt, the kind of tracks that would make you buy a full release by itself!
Most of the rest of the release is pure electro/techno productions, with great quality. Really a "must have" for electronic fanatics.

Just picked this one up yesterday and i must say on first impressions i was a rather dissapointed. What drew me towards purchasing it in the first place were the two exclusive Dexter tracks, both of which are nothing compared to his solo releases on his own label Klakson. They're rather unfinished and lacking the groove and bounce of those records. The first is a crunchy industrial electro tune of no distinction and the second just comes of sounding like a poor impersonation of Autechre with a dodgy vocal. Alden Tyrell, makes a brief appearance as Partisan Midi and does nothing but make me hit the fast forward button. The Perspects tune is just an instrumental version of his "They Keep Dancing" track originally released on Ghostly International, which is a great tune mind you, but definately sounds better with the vocals. Legowelt adds a typically italo-inspired workout that doesn't really go anywhere for five minutes. I don't know what they were thinking when they added the embarassing sleazy hip-hip mistake by Mocky. Perhaps the only thing that stops me from refunding my hard-earned dosh on this tomorrow is the brilliant track that Bangok Impact contributed to the compilation. Starts off with a delicious chunky bassline complimented by crisp bass/hi-hat patterns and then totally lets lose wih an uplifting appregiated synth line that leaves me in electro-disco heaven. In the end i guess its worth it for this tune alone. Must go find their album on a.s.a.p.
