Compilation album by Wound Magazine
I can now add Babygod's 'Throw it on the Fire' to the setlist, since it sticks out like a sore thumb in the number 4 position on this compilation.
It's a distressed electro-glam stompathon of a track with cracking, soaring vocal harmonies in the choruses and verses that are spat out in an unashamed Glasgow accent. It's an intoxicating blend that gave me shivers like I haven't had for a while.
It's a break-up rant about 'The words that hit you and the kisses that missed'. There is many an ‘ouch’ moment in the lyrics then, though it also has a wry sense of humour. At one point, the singer gets cut off mid-line while he's complaining about the way that he always gets cut off mid-line.
This track sparkles and bounces like a brand new spacehopper and I can't recommend it highly enough.
I see from their myspace that they have another track ‘Time’ out as a single just now. It's good too but I think ‘Throw it on the Fire’ is a more obvious single. Go check.
