This one started it all, if you want to talk about goa-trance. There were others before, but they didn't work like this on the dancefloor. Kung-fu types talk about ki, the unclear becoming clear, and the tracks here make it clear, that now is the time to move your feet and leave your mind for a while.

The sample "if I could discover just one of these secrets..." not only makes me dance and scream, it also is a really funky poem about freedom of the mind, but luckily that doesn't make the music stop to wonder.

To me, it's only charming that all the tracks aren't perfectly suited for everything. Getting too close to the formula is getting boring.

Try it.

“7am as the day begins, the drug is inhaled to introduce the strange language of the initiation rights ...”

Every legend has a beginning and the legend of TIP Records begins here. I reckon that what The Doors and Jimi Hendrix is to the hippies of the seventies and what Beatles and Rolling Stones is to the sixties so TIP is to the goa follower. Together with a few other labels TIP truly introduced something new in the midnineties and on Yellow Compilation you get a wide selection of the best at their best. Sure, a lot of bands didn’t make the cut. Astral Projection, Etnica, Koxbox, X-Dream, Cosmosis ... But look who IS there?! The Infinity Project, Doof, MWNN, Hallucinogen, Total Eclipse. Hell, they even got Space Tribe onboard :o)

If you’re into that ol’ classic goa sound start hunting. This is the epiphany of the trippy, diverse, old skool insane psychedelic shaman medicine that TIP got famous for. And as you can probably tell, I like it :o)
