I think the chap's review above is actually for the Fulton mix?... Trademark wonkiness from Maurice, lush building synths, floating piano's and frankly crackers live drums. A truly classic MF mix. The B-Side is a little more straight forward, deeper house kinda cut, like a classic Paperecordings style track. Big long smooth build, through to a large bongo break then back down to business. All in all, a great release on Westbound.

This is a great song but the versions that was released here are crap compared to the original version. These guys shreaded this song to bits. I have the original version on a CD-R and would buy this up in a heartbeat. Hopefully Walter makes an album and includes the original version on it. I didn't expect the 17 minute version to be on vinyl, but I expected more from Maurice,Little Chris and Juan Nunez. It sounds like stir fried sh*t! The bassline on the remix sounds like my grandpa farting! Do yourself a favor wait until the release of the original version, and pray it does come out. Walter is a talented guy. I still give this one four stars.
To be honest I'm not a fan of the Maurice Fulton mix, but the B-side is a fantastic, cutting edge blend of live instrumentation juxtaposed against filthy analogue distortion that puts Mr Oizo and his french pals to shame.
It is not to everyone's taste, I imagine, my mum for example was quite worried by it. It is not musical in the traditional sense, the analogue noises meandering out of time, before being brought back into tempo with some live percussion fills and even some jazzy piano. If you like your tunes grimy and, frankly, unpleasant then you are going to love this. Just don't expect maternal approval.
