This is one of my favourite songs ever, an absolute 80s classic.

Yes, the lyrics may be cheesy but they are sung soulfully and the backing vocals are also superb, as is the countdown and a few bars of the synthesiser in the intro.

This song strikes me as the perfect summer anthem and movie soundtrack (probably some cheesy romcom) and is a brilliant pop record, if you ask me. And thats all it is- a brilliant pop record that deserved to be a huge hit. So, don't slate it, simply accept it for what it is and enjoy- I guarantee you you will.
