Whiskey Howl remains one of the great duccess stories of the early CanCon eara. A blues band that enjoyed a large following, appeared on legendary concert bills and left one memorable studio album. This self-titled album was released in 1972, with a cover shot of the group standing on Spadina Avenue in front of Grossman's. The album quickly garnered rave reviews and airplay on FM stations across the country. (exerpt from the liner notes written by Nicholas Jennings "Before The Goldrush").
This has got to be one of the most killer jumpin' blues albums I've ever heard. The band was equally amazing live. Too bad it was so short lived. Anyone who likes drivin' harmonica blues should have this in their collection.
