A masterclass in building a minimal acid/techno tune from bassline up. Considering it pretty much consists of one bassline, a bassdrum, hi hats, 1 synth noise and a sample of a maniac laughing it is very effective.
Oh my God, 1995 was the year that you could just not get away from Josh Wink no matter where you went - even my "cowtown" did not have a night without "Don't Laugh", "How's the Music", or (cue anticlimatic drum roll) "Higher State of Consciousness" ("tweakin' funk" mix or whatever.)
Not that this was a bad track, but I must confess that even 10 years later, I don't particularly care to hear it again. One good thing about aging is that you're only exposed to one generation of overplayed club hits...
Who could forget the mind boggling forever looping filtered laugh so beautifully crafted by Josh Wink! If you were dancing in 1995, you were definitely laughing along!
