Reviews & Discussion

Review by PKS Dec 17, 2005 (edited over 3 years ago)
Moshe Keinan (Xerox) and Amir Dvir (Illumination) from Israel are two guys who have been in the psytrance scene from the beginning ten years ago. Xerox has released three albums by himself and one album together with Freeman. Illumination is actually the same guy as Luminus, who released three albums. Both are well known in the Israeli psytrance scene, and now they are releasing an album together on the well known Hom-Mega label. They have already released several tracks together on various compilations too.

They could have been a bit more creative on the album title in my opinion, since Menis used the same title on his album released on Koyote Records in 1998... First out is a totally massive full on track. Dark and pumping, but also with lighter melodies floating in and out of the track. Pretty drifting and about as full on as it can get. Track 2 is their second part of Marley on Acid. This one is pretty funny. They have put in some vocal samples of Bob Marley and twisted it around. The rest is massive full on, going pretty dark. One of my favourite tracks on this album. The first part of Marley On Acid was released on the Israliens 4 compilation. Track 3 (Resolution) is an interesting collaboration they did with Sandman (Itzik Levi). This track was first released on the Full On 7 compilation on Hommega Productions earlier this year. Heavy rolling bass line, with a dark, twisted vibe swirling in and out.

Track 4 is a rolling, very groovy track. There are some crazy voice samples in there and after a while they even mix in some heavy guitar, played by a guy called Arikzon. Track 5 goes even darker, with some sort of scary vibe. Totally full on all the way through. Track 6 starts with a nice floating sound, before the groovy bass line starts rolling again, together with bubbeling psychedelic sounds. It sorts of builds up and become more and more massive. A pure night time stumper. Track 7 also starts with a beautiful floating vibe. Drifting, trancey beats and psychedelic, swirling melodies. One of my favourites on this album. Track 8 (S.O.S.) is originally made by Psy Craft, released on their first album Gravitech in 2001. Here we get a remix by Xerox and Illumination. Very intense full on, with massive bass line and sounds all the way. Dark and twisted. The last track we get on this album doesn’t give us any rest either. This one is made together with someone called Goma (Renato Schnyder). Another one of those massive full on tracks. The sounds we get here is pretty crunchy, and we get a really cool melody in this one. The melody reminds me a bit of older Isareli style, but mixed with a new fresh vibe. Definetely the most melodic track on this album.

This album is perfect for those of you who want some strong Israeli full on trance. There could have been a bit more variation between the tracks, but the sound is pretty fresh.
