Many reviews of this beautiful album compare Yagya and Gas, Yagya and Basic Channel, Yagya and Markus Guentner; this is only half of the truth. Only minimalistic approach to electronic sound can put them together, in some undefined way (Guentner's track "In Moll #3" sounds like it continues Yagya's snowy dream). This is incredible album. I have listened to it more than 1000 times, and it still shows unique identity and powerful attraction. If I would need to point at one release similar to "Rhythm of Snow", it would be Voigt's "Konigsforst" - but only in the manner of persistent variety of 'monoatmosphere' that carries the listener away, again and again. Ambient techno lovers must not miss this CD.
As I read in one net-magazine, in 2005 he will return with his new album "Will I Dream During The Process". That's sure going to be one of the most expected releases in the incoming period!

Much has been said about yagya and the Rhythm of Snow, all of which i agree upon. The highlight of this album is Snowflake 6 which stands to a climax in the story. Snowflake 10, as mentioned a variation/remix of 6, is the denouement. Many nostalgic feelings seem to be placed here. Unlike the sense of smell which has the power to recall specific moments and events in time, the soundscapes created within put me in a place. Title influenced, i stand shallow in tall stark snowcovered fields feeling the weight of white, but i'm constantly being lifted by the contrast of subtlies turned overt by the produced environment. If i had one word to descrbe Rhythm Of Snow, it would be spiritual.

Put simply, this is some of the most perfect and beautiful music I have ever heard. Tracks 1, 2 and 6 are especially good.

Its a wonder this wasnt released on Mille Plateaux, such is the ambient content of this album. Granted each track on here has a 4/4 kick drum rhythm, but it still kind of seems a bit out of place surrounded by the more dancefloor oriented output that is the rest of Force Inc.

NB - Track 10 sounds to me like a remix of Track 6. It has the exact same chord patterns.

Have you been looking for the perfect cd to listen to while you work or download music? Yagya's "Rhytm of Snow" is the perfect album to waste time to. It's very soothing and ethereal. I've found myself listening to this album quite a lot lately. Highly recommended ambient minimalism.
