Yennek ‎– Serena "X" Remix

Serena "X" was a nickname of Kenny Larkin's girlfriend at that time - Serena Exner. He honorably baptized his tune with Serena's name, and the tune in question got a so huge feedback that Kenny got an invitation to release it on 'Panic In Detroit' compilation (the original version) and a single release of it with Carl Craig's Innerzone Broken Beats version for it.

"When I go to the studio, I do what I'm feeling - without any intention of following any kind of previous parameters", said Kenny Larkin recently. "I used the Yamaha DX-100 to create that ethereal synth lines of it. It was a small synthesizer, but know that many of the early Techno synths and bass lines were made on it - specially the bass lines", confessed Kenny, that released the tune under his nickname Yennek. "Derrick May used this DX-100 equipment to make several of his basslines at that time".

About the feedback of 'Serena "X"', the author K. Larkin said: "Somebody gave my contact to Buzz, and so the label administrators got in contact with me. They heard 'Dark Comedy - War Of The Worlds' and they approached me to release several tunes of mine, the first being 'Serena "X"'. They even gave a big advance to release an album, but unfortunately they went out of business so I couldn't do it", declared Kenny.

Serena "X" (Innerzone Mix) got a break beats base instead of the original straight 4x4 ones, but kept all the emotional Sci-Fi optic, and the result is a timeless Techno masterpiece. The same side also has Dan Curtin's 'Prototype - The Path', an atmospheric deep techno with a wild sense of rhythm, warm chords and Disco influences (it was also part of 'Panic In Detroit' compilation on the same Belgian label).
The oposite side has an obscure tune by Kenny Larkin as Yennek, 'Emperical Reality (Fake Piano Mix)', a fully emotional introspective Techno beauty. Priceless.
