My guess is that this album was released to satisfy the huge demand, as early as 1999, for the over-wanted and over-rated "The Flowers Of Intelligence" vinyl release of 1996; a guess based on the fact that this CD is not mastered very well. The dynamics of sound vary from track to track, even the volume level is not equal for all titles. Most tracks lack depth and power (sound-wise). Haven't heard the original vinyl releases of but the sound quality of this CD doesn't satisfy me. Interestingly there's no mastering info on cover...
As for the music, it's a very eclectic combination of Hard Trance/Hardcore/Ambient. Some parts like track 7 remind me of the Aphex Twin. It's obvious that this Italian guy had a lot of talent but sadly by the turn of the millennium he had already switched to the damned Hardstyle sound.
For the price this CD seems to sell it's worth buying, especially if you want to have in full-length the tracks of that original 1996 IST release. Would receive my full votes hadn't it been for the sound issues.

This album brings you some original industrial beats. Zenith must have visited church very often as he combines those beats with heavenly and angelic ambient music. This contrast works very well. Also, you can hear the influence of Aphex Twin during some tracks. The Flowers Of Intelligence song is the track to freak out on but be sure you will find some other beauties. A Tear In Heart is my favourite, amazing track which clocks in at 19 minutes.
The Flowers Of Intelligence album contains the tracks from the ridiculously sought after vinyl record with the same name on IST Records so probably you are better off with the cd this time..and I hate to say such awful things!

I agree: this cd ( as well as the two IST's vynils) is GREAT and unique. Industrial beats, dark "trance" melody, wicked pattern costruction. street of avalon, flower of intelligence, chaos induction are among my top 30 of all time !!
Fantastic release from Federico Franchi.
Still cannot understand that this guy is now making some sort of hardstyle on his own Trance Communications label, as Zenith DJ.
He should have sticked more to this style. Would have been an excellent Rephlex act. (words go he released there once?)
This whole cd is just great, with "The Streets Of Avalon", "Electric Turtle" & "A Tear In Heart" being the real favourites. I love every track, although the 5th track is kinda disturbing when you take off at #1 for an 58 minute long trip.
This is one of those discs that you'll completely like or not like at all.
