Come Elysium's remix of Mr. Redeemer, I must admit all the tracks are starting to blend into one another. The quality and style is very consistant, but as I commented above, while its all good, not much of it is particularly excellent. The Black Sun remix of Mighty Blutwurst changes up the BPMs and finally adds a bit of stylistic variation to the comp. It is still old school goa, but its a bit darker and just sounds a bit different than the first disc did. Elysium comes back again to rework Don't Smoke Acid. This one is slow in tempo, but the vibe unfortunately goes back to the previous tracks. Again, good? Yes. Great? No? The Hallucinogen remix of Fast Forward The Future brings Hallucinogen's magic to the mix and the track is a definate standout. It isn't Simon's best remix by anymeans, but the track does at least stick out from the rest. The final remix, also of Fast Forward the Future, by Voodoo people again slows the tempo down again, but elsewise is the usual "goa" action here.
End result. As as been stated several times already "good, but not excellent" seems to be the theme here. The Hallucinogen and Black Sun remixes stand out the most here for me while the rest is a bit of a blur. If you are looking for good goa to fill out some holes in an old school set, this might do the trick, but there aren't really any "amen" tracks here. 5.5/10
